To our valued patients:

Your health and safety is our top priority.  Rest assured that Milpitas Dental Center (MDC)  follows the best practices and complies with infection control procedures recommended by the the American Dental Association (ADA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). When you come for your appointment, you may notice some apparent changes in the front office.  Behind the scene, we have instituted additional, stricter operating procedures to keep all of us as safe as possible.  Below are some of those measures:

  • We’ve installed enzymatic water system to safely clean and sanitize the operatories after each patient.
  • We’ve installed acrylic barriers & water-resistant curtains to separate different areas in the office.
  • We’ve removed some furniture, decor, coffee maker, and snacks from the waiting room to enable social distancing.
  • We’re using medical grade filters and UV sterilizer for our HVAC system.
  • We have 5-stage True HEPA filters for every operatory and the reception area.
  • We have purchased and will be installing extra oral suction units to help minimize aerosols.
  • Our Personal Protective Equipment (gowns, jackets, aprons, mask respirators, face shield, surgical scrub caps) will be changed after each patient visit.
  • Appointments will be staggered and carefully managed to minimize contact among patients.
  • Every office employee will be screened and have their temperature taken before and after work.
  • Dr. Joseph Vu has joined Project Baseline Community Testing and will be tested regularly while providing vital research information.

Please join us in our collective effort to keep everyone healthy and safe by following these guidelines:

  • Please reschedule your appointment if you are at higher risk or if you (or suspect that you) have COVID-19 symptoms, or in contact with anyone who may have.
  • Prior to your appointment, we will text/email you COVID-19 screening questions that must be completed and sent back before you arrive.
  • There may be times we may ask you to stay in your car and let us know of your arrival via a text message or telephone call.
  • Please wear your mask when you come in.
  • We will be taking your forehead temperature with a contact-less thermometer.
  • You will be given a 1% Hydrogen peroxide solution to rinse/gargle with for 60 seconds prior to the operation.
  • If you have sunglasses, please bring them to wear during the operation to help to protect your eyes and the overhead light.
